ABOUT THE PROJECT
Studio Picture Cards is a groundbreaking initiative designed to shine a spotlight on the burgeoning talent emerging from British art colleges, including prestigious institutions like the Royal College of Art (RCA). This project serves as an artistically anonymous platform, ensuring that the focus remains solely on the creativity and innovation of new graduates and alumni rather than on the name or background of the business owner. By doing so, Studio Picture Cards fosters an environment where the artwork speaks for itself, promoting a pure appreciation of contemporary artistic expression over linguistic slogan usually exemplified by greeting cards that can theoretically exclude them from the diversity of a European and international market place.
.
The journey of developing the card design artwork the project has been challenging - a labour of love and dedication, exemplified so far by the seven-year commitment of one RCA and St. Martins alumnus. This meticulous process reflects a deep investment in quality and originality, mirroring the perseverance seen in other notable RCA alumni, such as James Dyson. Dyson's twelve-year endeavour to develop the first prototype of his revolutionary vacuum cleaner underscores the tenacity and passion required to bring visionary ideas to fruition.
.
Both instances highlight the enduring spirit of RCA graduates, whose contributions continue to push the boundaries of their respective fields. By supporting and showcasing the talent of these emerging artists, Studio Picture Cards not only celebrates their achievements but also provides them with a vital platform to reach wider audiences. This initiative stands as a testament to the rich legacy of the Royal College of Art and its unwavering commitment to nurturing the next generation of artistic pioneers.
